How often should cheap sanitary pads be exchanged?

There is no set rule for how often cheap sanitary pads need to be changed, as every person’s flow and needs are different. However, sanitary napkin manufacturer are some general guidelines:

Heavy flow days:

Change the pad every 2-4 hours. Heavy bleeding means more frequent changing is needed.

Medium flow days:

Change the pad every 4-6 hours. Check it after 4 hours and then again in 2 hours to stay comfortable.

Light flow days:

Change the pad every 6-8 hours. You can probably get away with changing it less often on lighter days.

Overnight:

Use an overnight pad designed to handle 8-10 hours of bleeding. Or change it in the middle of the night if you wake up.

Exercise/activity:

Change it before any vigorous activity like sports to avoid leaks.

Fullness/odor:

Don’t rely just on fullness, as smell can spread. Change at first sign of wetness or discomfort.

Cheap pads still need changing regularly for hygiene and to avoid rashes from wetness. Check it when you go to the bathroom as a reminder. More changes are better than waiting too long. Listen to your body’s needs.
