Discussion on the reform of teaching mode led by mechanical innovation design competition
The traditional single teaching mode of teacher lecturing and students listening does not bring up students’ interest in learning well. The teacher keeps motivating students, which greatly stimulates students’ learning enthusiasm and interest in practice. Students can master the knowledge, skills and methods in the “competition + project” and introduce the competition mechanism, so that the overall traction of students’ independent practice level can be improved rapidly.
1 Reform and innovation talent training mode
This major adopts the talent training mode of alternating engineering, which basically realizes the combination of school and enterprise practice, and the combination of work and study. During the three-year study period, students adopt the segmented incremental teaching mode. This segmented alternating engineering talent training mode enables students to improve their social practice ability, feel the culture of enterprises during their study period, and solve the problem of enterprises’ demand for productivity.
However, due to the limited skills knowledge of students and the need for enterprises to complete production work tasks, students are usually arranged to work on the assembly line, and students cannot master the key technologies of key positions; in addition, there is a gap between the professional knowledge points mastered by students and the requirements of enterprises, so they cannot meet the technical requirements of key positions and can only be assigned to assembly line production positions; furthermore, the requirements of positions in different enterprises are different, while the training mode of students is The same, so students can not meet the personalized needs of enterprises for technical talents.
In response to the personalized needs of some enterprises, the research and implementation of the “order-based” talent training model has further deepened the cooperation between schools and enterprises, adding customized courses in the existing curriculum system, eliminating the problem of inconsistency between school and enterprise requirements, while the college and enterprises to achieve co-management and co-education of students. The “order-based” talent training mode can achieve the highest degree of students zero distance to the job, greatly improving the satisfaction of enterprises to students. The major has opened order classes of Foxconn, Sany Heavy Machinery, Ruisheng Technology, Kodak and so on.
The School of Mechatronics has also set up the Student Innovation Activity Center to enrich students’ spare time, get them out of their dorm rooms, give up the addictive online games, and provide a platform for them to cultivate their hobbies, realize their ideals, and cooperate as a team.
2 Reform classroom teaching mode
The “competition + project” practical teaching mode is to integrate the previous mechanical innovation design competition projects into the existing teaching, and combine the actual work process and working environment of modern industry, re-integrate the teaching content of professional courses, and complete the theoretical and practical teaching work. This teaching mode breaks the traditional teacher-teaching, student-listening model, emphasizing the student as the main body, teacher-led. In this “competition + project” practical teaching mode, because of the integration of the mechanical innovation design competition of the eye-catching content, so not only the teacher to teach design, students also have to learn design, by the student team group to complete the project, the students’ teamwork ability has also been improved.
3 Optimize the faculty and improve the teachers’ innovative guidance ability
2013 hired Chu Tian skills master teacher 1, December 2014 part-time teachers in enterprises primary, intermediate and senior enterprise technical staff resource base of 50 people, to June 2014 to encourage teachers to use their holidays to work under the enterprise attachment exercise, organize teachers for backbone teacher training, etc.. In the process of teaching team construction, teachers pay attention to the improvement of teachers’ innovation and entrepreneurship guidance ability. Teachers not only actively participate in the mechanical innovation and design competition, but also transform the participating works into national utility model patents as far as possible in the process of guiding the competition.
4 Reform of school-enterprise diversified assessment system
4.1 Break the traditional test paper assessment reform to process assessment
Course assessment form is no longer the traditional examination paper type, a paper to determine the results, but focus on the task process to test the students’ hands-on ability, problem analysis and processing ability, communication skills, safety awareness, etc.; scoring links to join the students’ self-assessment, mutual evaluation. The whole course assessment evaluation ratio is: process evaluation (40%) and target evaluation (60%).
4.2 The introduction of enterprise evaluation for the top-up internship
The internship is an indispensable teaching link of this profession, and at the same time, the internship is also the result of the joint participation and management of the three main parties: school, enterprise and students. The starting point and demand point of school and enterprise are different
Therefore, the requirements and evaluation of students are also different. In the past, the evaluation was carried out unilaterally by the school, but in order to make students better fit with the industry and enterprises, we need to implement an effective evaluation system for the internship, so it is very necessary to introduce enterprise evaluation. During the on-the-job internship, students can get to know the enterprise culture and enterprise atmosphere, and at the same time, they can improve their technical skills and comprehensive quality in a targeted way.
4.3 Innovative and entrepreneurial activities, skill competitions, introduction of social evaluation
Innovative and entrepreneurial activities and skill competitions reflect the comprehensive ability of students. Take the mechanical innovation competition as an example, which is an evaluation of mechanical innovation works by peer experts.
5 Provide an example
At the beginning of the study, we have a good sense of leadership and try to make a model of practical innovation education. At present, we are actively preparing to expand the application of the practical teaching mode of “innovation competition as a carrier and integration of project-driven” in other courses. The courses of this teaching mode are “Interchangeability and Technical Measurement”, “Mechanical Manufacturing Process”, “Machine Tool Fixture Design”, etc., which can provide an example for other majors in this college and drive students in higher vocational institutions to practice independently and be innovative.
